BEFORE YOU TAN...
Shower, shave and exfoliate at least
8 hours before tanning to eliminate the dead skin surface.
Do NOT apply moisturizer, oils, or make-up until after
your post-tan shower. They could block the tanning solution from penetrating or cause streaking.
Plan ahead as to
where you want your tan lines, and wear a dark colored bathing suit or undergarments. Wear loose clothing and preferably sandals
or flip-flops for after your appointment. Wash all garments upon returning home. If necessary, bring a towel with you
to put on leather car seats.
Plan ahead to wait at least 6-8 hours before showering, bathing, swimming or perspiring
(working out) after you tan.
Tie up long hair away from your face and neck to ensure all-over coverage of the airbrush
tan.
Take out contacts and take off jewelry before you tan.
AFTER YOU TAN...
Wear loose fitting
clothes for at least 6 hours after you tan.
6-8 hours after you tan, you can take a quick, warm shower using minimal
soap. You can then apply moisturizer and tan extender.
You may notice some color washing off in the shower. This is
merely excess and will still leave you with a delicious, deep tan.
You can continue to use the tan extender on a daily
basis once a day, and moisturize also once a day.
Don't exercise immediately after you tan. Excessive perspiration
after application will inhibit absorption and shorten the life of your tan.
Your new tan will begin to fade over the
next few days, but the fading can be slowed if you moisturize regularly. The tan is only on the uppermost dead skin layer,
which is perpetually being sloughed off. Keeping the skin moisturized and not exfoliating will slow this process.
Don't
use AHA, Retin-A, BHA, bar soap, scrubs, body bleaching products, or toners with alcohol or witch hazel.
